Who we are
CineHaus ("CineHaus", "we", "us") operates cinehaus.org and related pages and services (the "Site"). CineHaus is a brand owned by NO LONGER NETWORK and ROOM 8 FILMS.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you:
- Visit our Site
- Create a CineHaus account
- Join our newsletter
- Buy tickets to one of our screenings or to a partner event listed on our Site
- Attend one of our events
- Use our Photobooth
- Use our in-person Shop
- Apply to become a partner and list events with us
Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you interact with us, you may provide:
- Account information. If you create a CineHaus account, we store your email address and the sign-in method you use. We do not store a password. You sign in with a one time link sent to your email, or with a passkey.
- Passkey information. If you set up a passkey, your device keeps the private key and never shares it with us. We store only the public credential your device gives us, so we can recognise you next time.
- Order and ticket information. When you buy a ticket, we store the order, the tickets issued, the event, the amount paid, and whether the ticket has been scanned at the door.
- Newsletter sign-up information, such as your email address, submitted through our newsletter provider Sender.net.
- Messages you send us, for example by email to info@cinehaus.org or social@cinehaus.org.
- Partner application information. If you apply to list events with us, we collect your contact and business details and the information needed to pay you out.
- Information you submit through our in-person Shop, for example an email address used for a receipt or confirmation.
Information collected automatically
We do not run analytics and we do not track you across the web. Like almost every website, our web host keeps standard security logs, which can include your IP address and browser type, for a limited time to help protect the Site. We do not use these logs to build profiles, advertise to you, or identify you personally.
If you sign in, we set a session cookie so the Site can remember that it is you while you are logged in. That cookie is necessary for the account area to work at all.
Photography and filming at our events
Our events are photographed and filmed. By attending a CineHaus event you understand and agree that:
- You may be photographed, filmed, or recorded, and you may appear in the resulting photos, video, and audio.
- We may use that material to document, promote, and advertise CineHaus and our events, including on our Site, our social channels, in our newsletter, and in other marketing, without payment to you and without asking again.
- Other guests, partners, sponsors, and press at the event may also take photos and video in which you appear. We do not control what other people capture, where they post it, or how they use it, and we are not responsible for it.
- Partners who run events with us under Friends of CineHaus may photograph and film their own events, and may use that material to promote themselves and the event.
If you would rather not be photographed or filmed, tell a member of our team when you arrive and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you appear in something we have published and you want it taken down, email info@cinehaus.org and we will remove it from our own channels where we reasonably can. We cannot remove material published by other guests or by third parties.
Photobooth media
The CineHaus Photobooth is designed so that photos and videos stay on your device. We do not require an account. The Photobooth uses your camera and microphone only after you grant permission in your browser. If you choose to save or share a photo or video, that happens using your own device's share and save tools.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number never reaches our servers. We receive a confirmation, the amount, and a payment reference so we can issue your ticket and handle refunds. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
We may also link to or embed third party ticketing tools for some events. When you use those tools, the third party may collect information directly from you under its own policy.
Partner events
Some events on our Site are run by partners under Friends of CineHaus. When you buy a ticket to a partner event, we share what the partner needs to run the event and admit you at the door, such as the ticket holder name, email address, ticket type, and order reference. Partners are not permitted to use that information for their own marketing unless you separately opt in with them. Payment for partner events is processed through our Stripe account and paid out to the partner, less our fee.
Cookies and analytics
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through. We use a small amount of strictly necessary browser storage to make the Site work, for example to keep you signed in or to remember that a pop-up was closed. Some third parties you choose to interact with, such as our newsletter provider or a payment provider, may set their own cookies under their own policies.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the Site
- Create and secure your account
- Sell tickets, issue them, admit you at the door, and handle refunds
- Publish and promote screenings and events
- Send newsletters and event announcements, if you opt in
- Send you transactional messages such as sign-in links, receipts, and event updates
- Review partner applications and pay partners out
- Provide support and respond to enquiries
- Keep the Site secure and prevent fraud and abuse
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information:
- With service providers who help us run the Site, for example hosting, email delivery, and newsletter tools
- With Stripe and any ticketing provider you choose to use
- With the partner running an event you bought a ticket to, as described above
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights and safety
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law or is needed for legitimate business purposes such as tax and accounting records. You can ask us to delete your account, and we will do so, subject to any records we are required to keep.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information. Sign-in is passwordless, so there is no password of yours for anyone to steal from us. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
You can:
- Skip tracking entirely. Analytics are already off, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the unsubscribe link in our newsletters. Transactional messages such as sign-in links and receipts are not marketing and will still be sent.
- Manage your passkeys from your account, and remove any device you no longer use.
- Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. See Contact us below.
- Ask to be left out of photos and video. See Photography and filming at our events above.
Children's privacy
Our Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International visitors
If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or in other places where our service providers operate.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the Effective date above when we do.
